Dawn Ahlers

Dawn is a very dedicated and enthusiastic coach with over 20 years of coaching experience. She enjoys teaching both recreational and competitive level skaters. She coaches Learn to Skate classes, private and semi-private lessons for children and adults. She teaches both Freestyle and Moves in the Field. Her students have obtained numerous medals in local and out-of-town competitions, and have competed in Regional and Adult National and International competitions, as well as in the Empire State Games. She has coached skaters from the Basic Skills level to the Gold Medal level in both Freestyle and Moves in the Field.  Dawn is a member of the Professional Skaters' association.

Joan Disbrow

 

Joan teaches freestyle, moves in the field, choreography, synchro, artistic and figures. 

Professional Achievements:  Nine years with "Holiday on Ice"; performed as a soloist & dance pair, directed their synchronized skating, was line captain and trainer of new recruits and understudies.  Toured USA, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Far East, Middle East, Australia & South America.  Director of Physical Education at Fredonia State College.

Coaching Experience:  30 years coaching experience.  Coached competitors at North Atlantics, Southwesterns, Easterns, Midwesterns, Nationals & International competitions.  Director of classes and figure skating in various WNY locations.

 

Rate:  $14 per 1/4 hour

Robin has been teaching figure skating for 16 years and is a member of the Professional Skaters Association.  She has coached Regional and National competitors.  Robin is the Director of the Depew Learn-to-Skate and Asst. Head Coach of Buffalo State College Learn-to-Skate.  In addition, she teaches at Buffalo Skating Club, Ken-Ton Skating Club, and Skate Great.  Robin teaches Freestyle, Moves-in-the-Field, choreography, spins, and power skating to skaters of all ages and abilities.  She also has her Master's degree in Elementary Education and Reading, and teaches in Tonawanda City Schools.

Lisa Heltman

Lisa Heltman has been coaching for 15 years. She was a competitive skater for 9 years. She passed her junior freestyle, and her 7th figure test. She teaches Learn to skate, Moves in the field, Freestyle, and choreography. She is married, and has 3 daughters. She coaches only at Buffalo Skating Club.

Patricia Tigue

Amateur Acheivements: USFS Gold Freestyle, Gold Figures and Pre-Gold Dance.  Coached by Sundae Bafo, and Olympic  coaches: Richard Callaghan, Thomas Lecinski, Cliff Thael & Howard Nicholson

Professional Acheivements: Preformed with Walt Disney's "World on Ice" and Ice Follies/Holiday on Ice shows.  Director of the Amherst SC "Skate With Us" learn to skate program from 2001-2007. 

Coaching Experience: Over 18 years coaching experience.  Teaches freesytle, moves in the field, and choreography. Currently teaching with the Buffalo Skating Club, Amherst Skating Club and Ken-Ton Skating Club.
